The Solving the Algorithm: Women in Machine Learning Conference was created to make a tangible impact on this pressing issue. This program equips African women with the skills and access to job opportunities for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

With the power of technology and their own creativity and passion we can empower African women to build tools that change the world.

Participants enjoy a 2.5 day immersive experience with:

  • Inspiring keynotes

  • Machine learning tutorials

  • Networking with Google employees

  • Community building exercises with other women in tech

  • Professional development training

Objectives

  • Comprehend the diverse set of career paths in AI

  • Gain insight into a human centered approach to building AI tools

The Women in Machine Learning conference is the best conference I've ever attended. It's a holistic conference that covers virtually all aspects of one’s personal development and career. Aside from it being a tech conference, there were sessions on positive thinking, building powerful personal brands and hands on Machine Learning workshops with top Google engineers. I'm so grateful for this opportunity. It has changed the trajectory of my career in ML

To me, YaaW means going above and beyond the ordinary. Through YaaW, I have been taught what it means to be an exceptional talent. I have learned that irrespective of what background I am from or the obstacles I have encountered, I can achieve my goals. I have been inspired to impact other women and  make a difference in people's lives.
